Access to world-class talent is the #1 determinant of success in the 21st century. As a result, HR employees have one of the most important roles in every company. They follow employees from the scouting and recruiting process all the way to the employee offboarding process and everywhere in between.
In today’s highly competitive business world, C-suite leaders have come to understand the advantages of a workforce aligned with business outcomes – as a result, HR has become the most important department. There’s increased emphasis on finding and retaining talent, creating world-class onboarding experiences and empowering employees to focus on work that matters so they can respond quickly to changes and drive positive business outcomes.
The HR Department usually has broad reach within most organizations and often deals with a high volume of processes and policies. Yet many HR specialists still routinely manage requests through email, phone calls and paper forms. In fact, 40% of their time is spent on administrative work such as entering data from one systemto another.
Employee On-Boarding is one of the most common day-to-day workflows. Many customers choose Live Forms for this and other HR workflows. With Live Forms, automating this workflow is easy and provides several benefits:
New employees only need to provide information once.
Errors and omissions are eliminated.
Required PDF documents like Federal and State W-4s are automatically generated.

One of the business problems customers most frequently solve with frevvo is HR process automation. Routine things like Employee On-boarding, Leave Approvals etc.
These everyday activities take an exorbitant amount of time if done manually. Employees and managers are waiting longer than necessary and spending more time/money than necessary to tackle these routine tasks. There’s also a much higher rate of inaccuracy in the manual process. Our infographics and other blog articles discuss how frevvo’s affordable, cloud-based workflow products for HR process automation can improve efficiencies in these areas. We’ve also created a short (2 min) video below to show you the benefits of using frevvo for HR process automation.

The fact is that everyday approval processes such as employee on-boarding, leave approval and time sheets take an exorbitant amount of time if done manually. Finnair is one of the most innovative and longest-operating airlines in the world. The airline specializes in flights between Asia and Europe, and its vision is to be the number one airline in the Nordic countries and the most desired option in Asian traffic. At the end of 2013, Finnair employed 5,803 people.
Finnair has faced severe cost savings needs during the last several years as the industry structures have been changing. As a way of finding cost savings and means of increasing operational efficiency Finnair aimed to digitize its form processes and workflows. Consequently, minimizing the manual work in handling and correcting the paper forms, making the coordination of up-to-date form versions easier, ensuring correct workflows and archiving methods as well as increasing process lead times were essential objectives.
Overall the project was a success as we overcame the challenges faced during the project. The digital MSR report provides optimal information sharing and accelerates and strengthens our corrective actions. – Niko Pakarinen, Safety and Quality Advisor, Finnair
Working with our partner Ambientia, Finnair chose frevvo Live Forms because of its:
suitability in terms of ease of use (and extending the use of the form application independently throughout the corporate organization)
agility in terms of workflows
enterprise readiness in terms of integrations with Finnair’s intranet platform as well as operational systems.
The first project in introducing Frevvo within Finnair was developing maintenance and safety report for Finnair Operations. For this project, extensive integrations were made between Frevvo and Confluence (intranet platform) as well as a Grails based integration application and Q-Pulse (operational safety report system).
The challenges faced throughout this project were extensive as it involved integrating several applications across several platforms. The connection between Confluence and Frevvo was the easiest part of the integration and the business rules and functions available in Frevvo made the rest of the integration possible as Frevvo was configured to make API calls to the Grails platform, which in turn made API calls towards the Q-Pulse system. – Eric Salonen, Solutions Expert, Ambientia
In future, Finnair aims to develop new digital form processes (workflows) with frevvo Live Forms and to widen the use of the solution to other business areas.
