OESJ (K-12 district) digitized routine workflows. Teachers can now spend more time on students

Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville (OESJ) Central School District is a a small, rural K-12 district in upstate NY. Everything was done using paper and sneakers. Their Director of Technology, Bill Cooper, decided to tackle the problem of reducing paper use.

After investigating a few solutions, OESJ selected frevvo Cloud for its drag-and-drop design, robust dynamic forms, integration with Google Apps and other systems and the ability to route the form to different recipients based on user data.

Fantastic, everything we needed in one platform.
“We are a small K-12 public school of fewer than 800 students and we are treated like a Fortune 500 company. If you’re serious about eliminating your paper documents, no matter the size of your company or organization, then frevvo is the answer.”

William Cooper
Director of Technology

OESJ started with their Purchase Request workflow and digitized it to eliminate the paperwork, back-and-forth for chasing down signatures and corrections and error-handling. They’ve now automated Vacation Request and HR On-boarding workflows as well. The On-boarding workflow dramatically reduced duplicate data entry and automatically generates Government PDF forms like W-4 and I-9.

The benefits are enormous:

  • Inefficient paper forms with duplicate data entry have been eliminated and seamlessly replaced with online ones.
  • Integration with Google makes it easy to sign in; documents are also automatically uploaded to Google Drive.
  • Teachers spend less time chasing signatures and have more time to spend on students.

OESJ intends to continue digitizing additional forms & workflows such as Parent Permission forms and to integrate them with their School Information and Accounting systems.

Celebrating “10 years” of success

10-anniv-frevvo

It’s hard to believe but frevvo’s just turned 10. It’s been quite a journey; obviously, like every company we’ve had a few struggles but overall, it’s been a fantastic ride.

Prior to frevvo, some of us worked at a BPM company where we built the front-end forms by hand. It was incredibly boring so we threw together a prototype while working part-time, quit our jobs and decided to give it a shot.

Branford’s beautiful Blackstone Public Library

The first few years were tricky. We worked out of Branford’s Blackstone Public Library and Willoughby’s Coffee in Branford, CT. Thanks Town of Branford. We came from a BPM background so our product didn’t have the fanciest UI – but it did real business things like conditional logic, integration, calculations etc. Still, it wasn’t easy to sell and the four of us were all Engineers.

It took us a year to get our first customer and another year to get our tenth. Since then, we’ve grown to almost 800 customers of all sizes in all industries spread out all over the planet. We’ve added several employees in Branford (and we’re looking for a few more right now). We’ve been fortunate to partner with some of the biggest companies in the world as well as great local partners right here in Connecticut: Westbrook Technologies now DocuWare in Branford and Square-9 Softworks in New Haven.

Ten years later, after many twists and turns, we’ve stayed true to our mission of caring deeply about our employees.

“We will not sacrifice our team’s happiness to chase every last $. We don’t want to be the biggest; we just want to be the best.”

That approach has paid huge dividends – employees have stepped up during tough times and customers sense their commitment and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure satisfaction – just take a look at our long list of customer testimonials.

I’m so proud of our success and grateful for the amazing team we have here at frevvo. I’m excited about the future, about meeting our new employees, about growing our business right here in Connecticut, and about building an even better product and exciting new relationships with customers and partners.

To all our customers: rest-assured that our employees will do everything in their power to ensure that you’ll still be happy frevvo customers on our 15th anniversary and beyond.

Finally, to my original co-conspirators Leandro, Nancy & Yuri, thank you for everything. It’s been a heckuva ride these last 10 crazy years.

They have a number of Sales Reps in the field. When a customer required a credit line, the Credit Approval process was completely manual – the customer would submit a paper form, medi had to correct errors and key in data into their ERP system. Similarly, the Contract process was also very manual and inefficient.

“frevvo’s Cloud-based solution is visual and easy to use yet has powerful business features and integration with our ERP.

frevvo has a great combination of simplicity and flexibility.”

–Tim Horkey Chief Financial Officer Service Owner

medi came to know about frevvo through a referral and decided to try workflow automation. Using frevvo’s low-code, visual workflow automation solution, they were able to automate their Credit Approval process in a matter of weeks. It’s already been updated with user feedback and integrated with medi’s Infor VISUAL ERP system.

Building on the success of the Credit Approval process, medi has also automated their Contracts process. Instead of emails & faxes, printing & signing, the workflow is now electronic and collects e-signatures along the way. Ultimately, it generates a binding contractual agreement as a PDF with the needed signatures.

The benefits are enormous. Both workflows are faster, error-free and far more efficient. Integration with INFOR ERP has eliminated duplicate data entry.
